Q: What is POservers.com's
responsibility and what is my responsability as a customer?
A: POservers.com is responsible for the hardware,
the operating system, the database server and web server software. We
also do an initial installation your application.
We make sure the system restarts automatically after a user initiated
shutdown or after a system
crash and we make backups. Whatever is done within an installation is
your responsibility.
Q: Can I do "anything" within my installation?
A: In principle, yes, but there are two reasonable
exceptions. 1. We will not tolerate that our systems will be used for
illegal activities such as distribution of copyrighted materials, fraud
or other illegal activities. 2. We will make sure that system resources
are distributed evenly. We will intervene if we notice long-running
processes that use excessive memory or CPU. Therefore, all changes to
basic configuration files need to be approved by us before they can be
made.
Q: Is it possible to move a hosted installation to
my own infrastructure afterwards?
A: Yes, just download the backup and install it on
your own server.
Q: I really messed up my system, how to restore the
last backup?
A: Contact technical support. We will restore the
latest backup free of charge.
Q: I need help setting up functionality X or Y
A: Apart from hosting, we also offer support in
setting up specific functionality. Cost is 75 EUR/hour (excl VAT).
Q: What
does the maximum number of users exactly mean?
A: For us, a user is somebody who 'uses' the
system. Or more technically: a physical person who logs on to the
system at least once per month. Persons or test accounts who have a
user-id registered in the database, but who do not log on, are not
considered 'users' when it comes to this measurement, nor do we put any
restriction on user related tables.
Q: I have more users/I need more than 5 Gb
disk space - is that a problem?
A: Additional users or diskspace can be bought for
a fee, which is proportional to the number of users/disk space in your
package.
